Was at FLW (Ft Leonard Wood) the other day and met the head of the FP dept who is an active duty NP (Maj Steven Studzinski). He has fought long and hard to get the PA positions cross leveled for NP's and they are looking to fill some spots and would like HIGH SPEED NP applicants for the following areas:
ER
Family practice: truely cradle to grave as you go from new borns to retirees
Troop Medical Clinic: where you take care of troops in basic training and AIT soldiers so this population is young 17-20's and primarily acute illness and lots of ortho injuries. Pretty fast paced environment w/ basic lab and xray on site
These positions would NOT be appropriate for new grads as they are looking for someone who can step in and do the job w/ minimal trainup
These positions are GS positions meaning you are a federal employee and pay is mid 80's plus depending on experience, plus all the federal benes and holidays.....
